Ways to Give

Many U‑M Medical School classes have established class scholarship funds to support current students and leave a lasting legacy. You can contribute to your class fund or general scholarship funds. You can also give to student organizations, Medical School initiatives, and other top priorities.

Planned Giving

Planned gifts enable you to make a lasting difference at the Medical School and in the lives of future U-M medical students. Here are several options for you to consider:

  • Bequest: Transfer assets, such as cash, securities, or tangible property, to the U-M Medical School by will or living trust.
  • Beneficiary Designation: Name the Medical School as a beneficiary of an asset such as a retirement account, investment account, donor-advised fund, or life insurance policy. This is a simple way to leave a lasting impact.
  • Charitable Gift Annuities: Turn assets into a stable, lifetime income stream as you support the Medical School.
  • Charitable Remainder Trusts: Receive financial planning benefits and make a charitable gift that will provide annual payments to one or more beneficiaries for their lifetimes or for a specific term of years.
  • Memorial and Tribute Gifts: Honor friends, family, classmates, or colleagues with a donation in their name.
